Saving AR State Butterfly
The Diana Project is a 3 year plan to utilize conservation education and citizen science to create a two-fold solution:
- Create public awareness of The Diana’s plight, solutions they can incorporate and cooperative efforts already in place for Arkansas pollinators
- Recruit, teach and organize citizen scientists to gather sightings, breeding and feeding habits via the iNaturalist application in order to assist decision makers
The most important things you can do right now?
- Leave the leaves from September to May
- Use pesticides and herbicides responsibly
- Plant native plants and protect your violets
- Join iNaturalist and look for butterflies!
- Create awareness by listening to our story from KUAF Ozarks at Large here and share it with others!
